The United Way of NYS :
Many residents of NYS have experienced significant losses as a result of the recent tropical storms. The United Way of NYS is coordinating a statewide recovery effort. Donations can be made by check or securely online at uwnys.org. If you write “NYS HSS” on the check memo line or under “special instructions” for an on-line payment, it will be possible for the United Way to identify how much was collected via organizations working with human services agencies. You may also choose to donate directly to charity organizations that have set-up relief funds in local communities.
